Tip radius... bad idea

Does the tip compress enough to render the pre-collision shape of the tip irrelevant? Does tip hardness matter in this regard?
Well, judging from that particular tip, the pre-collision shape is just a suggestion. It is a Moori but I don't know which hardness.
 
If you look at the tip shape of a lot of top snooker players, there tips are almost flat.
But it may also be a part illusion as most snooker cue tip sizes are only 9.5mm or even smaller.
I also noticed quite a few had tips that were mushroomed a little over the ferrule with no intention to removing this small amount of tip overhang.
I did not see many pristine tip installations in the close ups of this years championship.
