I just got a Jacoby Hyb.EdgePro and i like it but would like a firmer hit. It has a Ultraskin Black hard on it but it still hits a lil soft to me. What's a good hard(80+ shore) layered tip? I've got some WB's(single layer) and i may just try one to see how a really hard tip is on this shaft. Thanks..

Pressed Emerald tips work well.

Give it a couple weeks of constant play, IMO. and see how it is. When new, most layered tips hit softer than they do after a few weeks of play. Those U.S. Hards are pretty hard after break in.

LOL............. an LD shaft is not intended for a hard hit

I used to have a OB Classic+. It was quite low in defl. but still had a fairly 'crisp' hit/sound. I could see a softer ferrule making a difference. Just because its LD doesn't automatically mean 'soft' hit. I've hit a few cf shafts with harder tips on them that were very low defl. yet still had what i'd call a pretty hard feel.

I've got 3 or 4 Schon tips left that I got from Seybert's several years ago.
They advertised them as Schon, they no longer sell them. They are single layered,
hard, and play well. Will not mushroom. I'm fairly certain they're Water Buffalo.

I'll gladly send you one if you want, message me an address if you want one, no charge.

Just getting back into the game. Long story short, getting my first Schon back after 20 years, found out 1 shaft will need a new tip. I was hoping to get a tip that was originally put on. Can you not purchase Schon tips or whatever they use?

Try contacting Schon. I thought I had 3 or 4 but only had 2 and sent 1 to garczar
this morning, otherwise I would send you one also. I think they are just plain Water Buffalo.
