Tip wear just from chalking?

problem was when gas was .25 cents we didn't have too many quarters in our pockets.

the good old days weren't always so good.

and for those that agonize over costs of wearing out equipment maybe they should take up tiddly winks its lots cheaper and just as skillful.

Likely, the most abrasive chalk is also the cheapest (?). No excuse then for grinding such a deep pit in every cube, that the ferrel gets gouged. When he finally learns the right way to chalk, he’ll probably start tossing worn/pitted cubes more often.
still can't believe people still do that in this age like they haven't learned anything. most cubes that I have seen in pool halls I have been recently have deep pits on them. I typically would just scuff my tip on the sides of the cube. but it is annoying to see . the cubes needs to be treated properly.

Still a lot of old school bar bangers out there that don’t know better. Anytime you see chalking on TV (or movies) you see drilling and grinding. Looks cooler than gingerly painting it on. Plus reluctance to change a locked in pre-shot routine will keep it alive. Then there’s also the shark that squeaks it to annoy.

Anything thing can be worn down over time. Can a tip be worn down in a week just from chalking? No. Years?? Probably

Just look at the chalk itself, chalk is worn down from rubbing it on the tip. Why would the chalk not have an effect on the tip?
