Tips for replacing a damaged fiber pad on an OB2 shaft

I'm new to cue repair.

I just recently purchased a lathe and I have an OB2 shaft that appears to be in good shape, however the fiber pad looks as if a small chunk of it was taken out when the tip came off. I've never replaced one, and although it appears fairly straight forward I figured I would ask first to avoid any surprises.

It's a carbon fiber pad, not just a fiber pad
