Tips on cleaning a fiberglass shaft?

Ok Had this prob B4

I played with cuetec for a few years. And more recent, in cue repair I do the same thing....Here is explanation....

Fiberglass gets TOO smooth. notice a wood shaft is slick, but a bar glass is not, though it is smoother. Use water, hot water, and touch of soap if you want to clean the shaft, but to smooth it out, Use 400 grit sand papre - DO NOT SQUEEZE THE SANDPAPER, just fold it like a taco around the shaft.

Rolling the shaft on your leg, Knee to hip, make passes from tip to joint with the sand paper rolling one direction. Then, either go from tip to joint with the sandpaper and roll shaft opposite direction, OR roll same direction and move paper from joint to ferrule.

This will result in a diamond pattern in the shaft, and makes it slicker than snot on a doorknob...I generally use 320 for it, i suggest 400 for practice...

If want to clean it, start with Windex.....yes Windex! Its fiberglass and its non porus. Just spray it and wipe it dry with a separate cloth. If you need to smooth it start with 600 grit sandpaper and work up to 1000 grit, just lightly passing on the shaft. Should be good as new. Also 91% Isopropol Alcohol with work to clean as well. CHEAP AN QUICK. Fiberglass is a stable manufactured product not a natural, temporamental, porous, unstable material like wood.
