titelist conversion

I think these conversions are best left to the guys with fishing rod lathes.[/QUOTE]

At one time I had about 2 dozen of the Titlists. Bought 'em for a few dollars sold 'em for a few hundred. I think you're right about the fly rod lathes. ANYBODY BUT ME...JER

some people talk before they are informed, i believe blackheart is one. Dont do many lightweight rods. Hope you are catching what these jokers are saying, (lol think its a big joke). Got a master machinist going to do the work. If it doesnt work ill just burn that old cue.

Thought there were some nice guys out there till they insulted my equipment. I dont remember insulting you.

btw, whats a fly rod lathe? dont got one, I build heavy salt water stuff

I have a friend here in denver who reciently bought a few blanks and he paied $200 per very warped and $400 per fairly straight blank. For that price I would prefer to start with a v splice forearm and just match the veneer colors. Then you have the look with a solidly built forearm. Chris.

billfishhead, you've got my post all wrong. I was the ONLY QMAKER that gave you an honest quote, as to what I would charge. I did that, so that you could compare mine with the Qmaker you talked about. I thought I explained the reasons, why I won't mess with these OLD blanks. My comment was no more than saying "ANYBODY BUT ME". I mean you no disrepect in any way. I thought I was trying to help you, by giving you what I thought was an honest quote & my reasons for not wanting anything to do with these Qs. SORRY, I was not being a smart ass in any way. I was just trying to help. Go back & read what I had to say...JER

You are correct - that thing about the fly rods was not nice - Please accept my apology - I have been known to get carried away sometimes.:)

Titilist conversions should be done by anyone who wants to do them and at whatever price the cuemaker and client agree upon.

Good cuemaking,

apology accepted,,,,,,,,,comment remembered

Out of all the cue makers Ive met and dealt with a half dozen have stood out as gentlemen, and one has ended up at the top of that list,,,,,Barry Szamboti

ok Ill take my chances with an unknown. He has a one up on a lot of cue makers that are people that buy a lathe and learn how to use it. And call themselves cue makers.
Hes a master machinist and is shift foreman at a place where you need a govt. security clearance to work. Usta run a 300k machine, but now seta up and programs a 5 axis 3 mill dollar machine. He also has Bill Strouds number if any problems arise. Thanks for helping me go this direction.

WOW, if titlests cues are going for 700.00 then I have 4 for sale. I've had a dozen people want me to make a conversion out of the Titlest I have and I refuse. There are a lot of collecters of memoirabilia around and these old cues just keep getting scarecer so why destroy them when a new prong with the same veneers is not hard to build.

Dick

The last two I did out of Purple heart cost me $600.00 each for the blank, I sold an Ebony one for a friend untouched and it sold for $800.00.
