Titlist tribute by IQ Custom Cues
This is my titlist tribute cue made by IQ Custom Cues from Greece.
It took 5 months.
All the woods are seasoned and we used bubinga for the points (with four veneers, purple, green, mahogany and natural),bubinga buttsleeve with alternative ivory hoppe ring ,black juma buttcap and last highly figured curly maple for the forearm. The cue is fully cored with old hard rock maple.
The joint is stainless steel with alternative ivory sleeve, 5/16-14 joint screw, brass insert and all those parts where handmade by IQ Custom Cues (screw, joint, sleeve, insert and actually everything except the tip and the bumper) in order to achieve the best fine tuning for the cue.
Butt is 14.45 Oz and the balance is 18.85".
The shaft is the IQ3 high grade hard rock maple (check photos), low deflection (not laminate), long taper with Titan ferule and Kamui Black soft tip and weights 4.10 Oz.
Wrap is Irish Linen (white/green) and waxed with beeswax per request and the butt is threaded for extension.
Finally all the parts of the butt (forearm-handle-butt) are threaded (threaded wood tenons ).
The most important thing for me in this project was to have a very good feel and vividity from the cue, have a solid hit with very low deflection, but as i said without compromising the feel.
So here are the photos and also check some other work of the guys here : https://www.facebook.com/iQcues
