Howdy Ratman, I hope you get some great refrence material from this thread. There is pics of a Mottey on the other thread in the gallery. It is one of the finest I have ever seen. I am sadly computer illiterate or I would link/post them here.

I'd try to keep in wrapless ... add a butt section like mine, Murray's or Manwon's and use the section, ringwork and even inlays down at the added butt section to make a "style" statement. Adding a butt section should give you more room at the joint and even out the points, if needed.

That looks to be a light one....just guessing ?? But, I've heard from several cuemakers that those you almost have to re-handle to get the weight up to a decent playable weight. Might be something else to consider.
 
It kinda look like 70's Titleist I used to have that Eric Crisp converted for me, wrapless.

He added the butt section and got it somewhere in 18.5 oz weight. Or I believe it can be cored with more dense wood.

You are certainly right, the cue can be cored to bring the weight up to the point you want. Purple Heart or Maple are good woods to use for coring a cue like this depending upon the weight, before hand.
