Titlist cues... Opinions? Reviews?

Absolutely love this cue.

So I didn't know what a titlist conversion was until I joined this forum and REALLY REALLY love the idea behind it and the nostalgia factor is way way cool.

Anyone use one as their main player? Do certain makers core them or do anything else unique to give them a "better" hit? Do you use a newer shaft on yours if you have one? Or the original?

I really want to get one in the near future but highly prefer wrapless cues and most of the titlist cues I see for sale are wrapped, which seems unfortunate for me.

I am using one as my "main player" at the moment and it plays real well. I had the cue converted by Mike Pancerny and I use a Predator 314-2 FAT shaft blank that he fit for it, as well as the 13mm shaft he made.

My cue was a prime candidate for leaving wrapless, but I prefer a wrap and had him wrap it.

The butt of my stick is full-splice and original from joint to butt cap...no cores or bells and whistles.

I have a ToeBoy Titlist conversion that I use as my main player. It was converted in the early 90's and I still play with it today. I also have a Jerry R jump/break Titlist conversion that I use every day as well. Both are solid players and look nice.

When you look at the modern two piece cue, it is the Hoppe Titlist cue that started it all. Rambow, Bushka, Szamboti, Gina, Paradise, Palmer all made titlist conversions. They are very solid and after all these years, are still suitable for conversions.

One issue you might find is that the older standard lengths 56-57" might not make a suitable wrapless cue. You may end up with lower than normal points. It might take some doing to find the right cue to start with.

Is there anywhere with a decent visual compilation of typical veneers offered?

Were there any with pink veneers?

i used to own several blanks
i head several cue makers convert them

they do have history but i prefer the prather blanks for quality
and john nemic makes his own from scratch, his points are sharp and even at the top and bottom

i believe his are the best, but i am prejudice because i like him and the way his cues play

they make the perfect wrapless cue

No, titlists were one veneer set only. Purple, teal, brown and natural. If you want a full spliced cue with custom veneers there are plenty of guys that could do it. Older Ralphn Greenleaf cues had a red veneer, I think that is the closest you will find in a nostalgic cue.

I MUST AGREE , QUITE HONESTLY , YOU'RE ON THE ROAD TO HELL.

IMHO

PRATHER BLANKS ARE EXTRAORDINAY same said for JOHN DAVIS BLANKS.

for example only, take a look at the Superior Cue website, there you'll find 2 pages of Davis Blanks.
