This guy does need a lot weight,if he played Titanic Thompson that would put him close to a 100 years old.
Where I come from, David, the 'pick' and the 'break' are synonymous...
...when you break, you get to 'pick' the pocket.
'3 hit' means you can only run 3 balls in one turn...then you can play safe...
....'3 and stop' means you don't get to play the safety.
Thx, PT. This is not what I was thinking at all as I thought a pick was after your break you could remove 1 or more balls depending on the spot. I had not seen "the pick" before.
It would be interesting for Dean to comment what he meant and the actual game.
Thanks,
Dave

PT is mistaken, (maybe it's different where he comes from) you're correct.
I have seen the 'pick' mean you could spot a ball after the break....you know, the one that leaks out on a bad break.
...the ball spots like you had made it in a wrong pocket.
I've been coast to coast and Gulf to Great Lakes...sometimes you need a translator.
...like if you're giving the orange crush...it means different things in different places.
Androd...I'm interested in hearing another version of "pick".
Up here in Toronto, when someone asks for the '6'...every second person thinks they're getting the 7-8 with it.

I will try to explain some terminology
1hit and the pick means a handicap of 1 ball and the break, but i pick the ball after the break
2 hit and the pick means the break, pick 2 balls after the break
"
this same game is called pick 2 and and the break, the break and pick 2, 2 pick and the pop"
same game different language
