Ted I know you read these post, please do the right thing and send me my Cue back, you have been paid in full ! my Cue has been long finished, I have a statement in the works from Steve that you have the finished cue, plus your email stating it and my cancelled check endoresed by YOU!..... lets just end this now, send me my property !

It is so sad that you choose to be a low life and shady business person rather than take your lazy azz to UPS and just send me my CUE! You rather be exposed for being a underhanded and unreliable cue maker than just do the right thing! and now you face the inevitable process of going to jail! Why? .....I certainly do not understand you or those like you!

I hope this is the very last resort possible. 1 sided stories can hurt one of the parties involved.

If I were Mr. Harris I'd wait at least 30 more days if everything you said is true.

And, each additional outburst......another 30 days.

I am glad Mr Lucky has brought this to our attention! I was very close to ordering a cue from Ted. The order is on hold for now. This is not the first time I have read about this cue maker and his business practices. JMO.

That would make you a very poor business man now wouldn't it?

I have called and emailed him for the last 4 weeks ! I posted a week ago asking him to send me my cue hE has been sent a certified letter ! All to no avail! Hell other posters have asked him to respond and explain himself to no avail
! I would say that these efforts would qualify for at least the label of very last resorts!!!!! :(

Phil is just at his wits end and wants his cue back. I don't blame him one bit.

Thanks a lot Mr. Lucky! I'm not going to order a cue from him because of what you wrote. Also, I'm going to tell every pool player I know not to buy from Ted Harris because of what you wrote. Good luck in court.

phil,,,,it's called "cuemaker's time", and it's quite different from normal time.
i guesstimate that it's slower than "general contractor renovation" time or the gestation period of a whale. there are a few that are prompt, but you have to search.

it goes something like this.....
1...take any and all orders no matter how backed up they are.
2...expensive cues come first.
3...take in more orders.
4...have so many orders, they don't know where to start.

Cuemaker time OR general contractor time, this person still needs to communicate the situation and not leave the other person hanging. Who wants to do business with someone that is AWOL for 30 days or more?

It's more like grade-A laziness and incompetence as a businessman. It's a shame, too, because he is very talented and does great repair work at times. I, too, would have my doubts about a one-sided story like MrLucky's had I not had a very similar experience. It finally came nearly a year after it was sent the cue to him for a new shaft, refinish, and new joint pin. But like I said in my other post about MrLucky's problem...best thing to do is to simply let your checkbooks do the talking. He will not be getting another repair job or recommendation from me.

Unfortunately this cuemaker that has not protected his own interests due to the multitude of these similar circumstances. If it were an isolated incident here and there would (and should) warrant consideration, but this seems to be more the norm instead of the exception. In summary, the problem is not the delay....delays are understandable....it's the lack of professionalism and disregard for any customer service.

The most funny thing is, cuemakers with weird temperament..or bad time management..or sporadic MIAers seems to get the most orders....with their cues demanding good prices... simply becos the cuemaker or their cues are so hard to get?

Just my 3 cents.

After reading an earlier post by Mr Lucky, Ted cashed the check on 10-6-05, Wilma hit Florida on 10-24-05 (according to Ted's website) so there was plenty of time to get Phil's cue back to him. This is a normal way for Ted to do buisiness, has been for YEARS. Not just the occasional "twist and turn" of life's events, just selfish business practices.

And the Cue was complete

my ted harris story......

i gave my richard black titlist conversion to ted at valley forge a few years ago to be leather wrapped. he said he didn't have time at the show to do it, but he would take it home to his shop, wrap it, and mail it back to me in 3 days. i payed him at that time.

3 MONTHS LATER, after tons of calls and emails, no response.
I decided to DRIVE to his shop (10 hours) away to get my cue.
when I showed up, he wrapped the cue for free.

to bad it cost me 3 months of waiting, 2 days of driving, a hotel, gas, and a huge headache.

when I called other cuemakers and collectors and told them my story, all they said was...." yup, that's ted alright".

does ted to good work?......yes
does ted make a nice cue?......yes

but at what cost.

i feel your pain.

Funny. Speaking of work quality, Ted put two tips on at a tournament for me. I waited over night. They both popped off the next day.
