first i want to say im flattered that you guys want to see alex and i play and i would love to play for what was offered but i knew that with all alex has won he would probably expect more to put his rep on the line against someone whos thought to be a huge underdog .but anyway i hope we did not offend and i would love to play him again as i think it would be a good battle that you guys and myself would enjoy. see you next year and hope we stir some 14.1 up bye for now john schmidt

Thanks for your views. I would have to disagree with your "underdog" characterization though; in my opinion you played MUCH more of a classical, risk minimizing, minimal ball movement straight pool game than Alex (though I understand he has taken some lessons from one of the old masters since '04). In a long match you would HAVE to be the favorite (at least my money is on you).

I would love to see "all ball fouls" in the re-match if it ever comes along - it would definitely add more tension to the match (if that is even possible). Good luck this year.
