Today's New Orleans Tournament

Is anyone here going to or playing in the $2,500 Added bartable tournament at Sports Center Bar & Grill in New Orleans ? This is a $40 entry fee tournament with 2 calcuttas. I know that Buddy Hall and Hall's buddy are heading there with some others from neighboring states and I'd like to get some periodic updates on how the N.O. 'locals' are holding up.(504-455-2231 or 504-347-1813)....
They are also holding the 'B & C' class nineball tournament at the Corner Pocket a couple of miles away (504-469-2003) this weekend. Man,oh man, the calcuttas will pay more than the Added pool.. imo

I guess I'll post a reply to my own inquiry. I've done my own snooping around and found out that my Pal Joey A. is playing for the 'hot seat' in the B-C tournament being held at the Corner Pocket (he's already won it,twice). The $2,500 Added bartable tournament was a disappointment (imo). The two day affair will most likely end tonight as only 20-something players showed up and they're down to the final three. It seems that the $2,500 Added had some fine print that based the Added money on a field of 64 players pumping 75¢ per game through the coin tables. It's down to Erman Bullard, Buddy Hall and Goodtime Charlie".... Cliff Joyner is 'looking for action' and I believe that he's looking to play some 11-5 for 3000 jellybeans... It's my guess that some of the 'bar table' participants will find action at the Corner Pocket after the tournament. I mean, they ARE open 24 hours a day.

Smorg, do you know if, Tennaco, played in either tourney? Hope my buddy, note small b in buddy, Charlie Owens takes it off. I like Erman too. Buddy is the guy that labeled me the $Bill 30 years ago, LOL.

This just in...

Buddy Hall won the tournament and pocketed a cool $2,000. Erman Bullard came in second place.

Somebody from New Orleans just called Keith and said Buddy Hall has lost about 50 pounds and is looking mighty sharp!

Currently, there is talk of action on the horizon.
