On August 12-14 the cpa (apa in the states) is proud to announce that that Shane Van Boening Alex Pagulayan John Morra and the top Canadian at this years Canadian championship will be at shooters pool hall in north york Toronto to play in a $15,000 cpa/apa 9ball event race to 3. This event will be live streamed for free (details to follow). And can be seen live at shooters for the fee of $25.00 a day for cpa members $40.00 for non members or $60.00 for the full event for members and $110.00 for non members
 
Nice to see that the APA and Shooters are helping the pros make some money. Johnnyt
 
Did you say "race to 3"?

I wonder if the exchange rate is like 10:1...as in 3 Canadian + 30 US. :embarrassed2:

A race to three seems pretty short to me too. Might make for some pretty good woofing though, for a few minutes anyway.

Ok so its a best of 5 cpa/apa 9ball each game goes to 75 pts no push outs no jump cues . All matches will be played on a diamond bar box. There are only 500 tickets per day for this event. Only c07 cpa players can get the discounted tickets of $25 per day or $60 for the full weekend. Non co7 members the cost is $45 per day or $110 for the weekend. For those who play in the c07 area and buy the full weekend package will be entered in a draw to play scotch doubles (4 winners) with the pros for the chance to win $1000.00. This event will be live streamed by none other then J.R Calvert free of charge. Doors open at 6pm and the event will start at 8pm. OK, so it's race to 3 SETS of 75 pt. total games correct?

APA is what, 1pt for 1-8, 2 for the 9?

So there are actually 3 sets of 7.5 games, give or take.

This sounds to good to be true... i've been thinking all along about how fun the APA score system in 9 ball is and how great it would be to see some pros play it.

I think it's a much much better way to market pool on television then the standard 9 ball. Every ball counting for a point is much more interesting to the average joe.

Its true and that's why we are doing it. And this is not just a one off this will be a annual event with the winner coming back next year.
