Tom Hay

While visiting Dennis Searing yesterday with my girlfriend, I met Mr Tom Hay.

He was picking up a shaft Dennis made for his RT(he built it) custom cue, upon getting the new shaft and paying Dennis for it, he handed it to my girlfriend and told her it was hers to keep. We've never met Tom before in our lives and he hands her his personal cue as a gift. Needless to say we were both speechless.

What an amazing gift from a complete stranger or from anybody for that matter.

I believe Tom wrote a article sometime ago about pool room in Glen falls NY. This room was a hangout for a buddy of mine who is in his 70's. My buddy told me stories of this place back in the day and it sounded cool, I hit the Googles and found Tom's short but spot on article. When I showed it to my friend he got misty.

That's it pt, my buddy described this room very well and also told me that you could tell who was coming into the room by the way the stairs creaked when they walked down them He also talked about Charlie Kaufus(the room owner)and described him much the way Tom had. Tom and my friend(James Reardon,JR for short) shared this room at the same time but did not remember each other. We actually contacted Tom to tell him thanks for the article and the picture!
