Tomahawk glue compatability

Has anyone had a problem with tips popping off Tomahawk ferrules? I have had several. Been using Loctite gel. Advice?

I use Loctite 401. It`s superior to the Gel kind. The only "downside" is that you have to work fast.

I use Loctite Ultra Gel..... EDIT.... I take a razor blade and cut a few cross scratches across the end of ferrule...... Then I spray the ferrule with accelerator and have the glue on the tip with tip in tip holder.... Once it touches and is pressed, it is set.... I will spray a little more accelerator and let it set under pressure for a few minutes before cutting tip down... So far, no tip has come off.... 5 plus years using the gel..

I'm also in the Loctite Professional camp. The only thing I've ever used that sets any faster is Satellite City Hot Stuff. Tommy D.

I use JB weld 5 minute epoxy, although it takes longer to set and cure there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that a tip will be completely and thoroughly adhered.

It takes longer and isn't as cheap as super glue but I like the assurance. The local repairmen in my area often starve the joint when using super glue, even if the tip never pops off I can always tell when it's not thoroughly and 100% adhered. It's the reason why I even started installing my own tips, I just got tired of that exact problem.

To be clear, I'm not saying super glue doesn't work, it most certainly does, as long as the person installing the tip knows not to press the tip on too hard, or have uneven pressure from one edge to another.
