I was happy to let my friend get his Mike Cochran back.
I traded for this cue and a wrapless Scruggs layer. It is a nice match for my cue!

I was wrong!

The veneers in the boxed veneer cue are turquoise not green. They look blue sometimes and other times green! It just depends on what angle the light hits the cue. So I guess I was kind of right too!

I could force myself to play with the ebony front cue!!

It is most forgiving. I really love the way it flexes on contact. I seriously only play with the 8 point Cochran. It is around 20.5 ozs. and I have a 13.25 shaft with it.
The ebony front cue is around 19 ozs. and has 13 mm shafts and nothing about the cue including the leather wrap is what I am used to. But truthfully I shot a few with it and it was like I had played with it for years!
It took absolutely no getting used to. I was amazed.
I did played with a stainless steel piloted joint 5 veneer Scruggs cue for a long time but it was 21 ozs. This cue is not suited for me in any way including the leather wrap.
But my brain doesn't know it! I was amazed I could do anything with it let alone play great instantly with it!!:D
Go figure! I need to do better pictures. It is hard because the ebony front is so shiny the glare off of the finish makes the details in the cue disappear.
