Original post edited to include US Amatuer and correct Shannon's added $$

With so much going on lately, if all the players would just play there should be no gripe about a way to make some money playing pool.

That's because pool players want to hustle and steal. Tournaments are tough and they have to show their game. Will probably always be like this. Yet they talk down to someone who doesn't want to gamble cause they say you are "heartless" or scared. They don't want to play cause the so-called "gambler" has a great edge and in most cases doesn't hold a job. I am always told of a time when most all "gamblers" worked and there was much more action cause the players all had money, not stakehorses.

Oh well, I'm off topic but couldn't resist.

Birmingham Race Course $1000 added Birmingham, AL = 18 Players
De Ja Vu Billiards $5000 added Montgomery, AL = 27 Players

Babineau's - Raleigh, NC $500 Added SR's= 24 Players (from AZB Results)

2 $1500 added tourney's in NC as well.

Please fill in the blanks or add corrections if you know what the exact turnouts were for the above events.

would the event in Raleigh be the senior open that took place? it ended up being $500 added because of the turn-out. even though it was lighter than anticipated, the owner of Babineaus was very happy with the players that attended. did not hear about Rocky Mount - what is that?

Birmingham Race Course

Total entrants were 18. The winner had to win 4 matches to take home the $1000 added purse.

I was at the Montgomery, AL $5000 added tournament also. It had only 27 players. Calcutta was not as high as I would have liked either, but as should have been expected.
