I have a lathe similar to the one in the pic, an older model Clausing we have here at my work.

What/where could I find for the collets for the shaft (not really intrestd in sticking the butt into the lathe or doing wraps)?

I see similar items listed for the Mini Q lathe like listed here http://www.poolndarts.com/70-Cue-Maintenance-Supplies/, but nothing for commercial equipment.

The same colletts will work in any size lathe but I can't believe anyone on earth would buy such a simple thing to make so cheaply on a lathe. 5.00 worth of Delrin will make all the colletts you need for a of couple life times.

Hold out for the Hardinge HLV-H Joey, you don't need that big a lathe unless you want to start turning out small cars on it ! Of course if you really need one, Reliable has a 14"x48" on ebay ... the suprising thing is they list it with a 1.125" through hole !
