Are there any TOP pros that don't use a jump cue? I don't think Reyes uses one. Of the others that don't use them (if any) what percentage do you think their game would go up if they did use one. Let's say if they used one they would be average with it. Johnnyt

I've seen Efren Reyes use a jump cue (it was a jump/break cue), he jumped ok :D

Earl Strickland was against short jump cues for years, he made a scene at the 2002 WPC in the semi-finals where he challenged Takahashi to "be a man" and not use a jump cue, Takahashi accepted and loss the match...

couple of years later I've seen Earl uses one as well, I guess he finally understood that he has to go with the flow if he wants to win...

i saw efren use a mezz airdrive on last years wpc (where daryl peach won) and yes, he jumped good :)

I've never seen Earl use a jump cue, where was this and do you have some video proof of it?. It's a pretty serious accusation knowing how strongly Earl feels about jump cues. I know Earl breaks with a shorter cue, maybe 54", so I could see him using that as a jumper.

Earl used the jump cue in the last Mosconi Cup against Daryl Peach. He brought two cues with him to the table, his playing cue and jump cue. He then dropped his playing cue on the ground and used the jump cue. Mind you.... he jumped, made a ball to the top right corner and drew back for position on the next ball. After all this, he chucks his jump cue to his chair and resumes play. I think theres a video on youtube somewhere...

Well that's the only time I've ever seen Earl use a jump cue, and I'm disappointed by it. After the years of macho talk about how only wimps use the short stick, it's pretty weak that he's using one now. Lost even more respect for him as a man, I've always thought he was a nut-bar hot-head, but now I can add hypocrite to the list.
Amazing how one's belief system changes when your "backer" or endorser happens to make jump/break cues as his specialty?

Who would have thought that Earl might change his tune when his livelihood depended on it? Hmm................................

Earl was using a "jump" cue when he was with Cuetec. He had a cuetec that was about 50" long that he used for a lot of the "full cue" jumps that he did.

This was no different than the Bunjee with an extender, the Airtime with the bottom handle, the Predator Air with the second handle and so on......

Earl has been a hypocrite about it for a decade or more.
