I hit with the cue as level as I can get it, and I hit through the cue ball. Hitting through the ball and making sure to have a good follow through seems to great increase the amount of "junk" I can put on the ball

I agree 100% here. I try to keep my cue as level as possible and when I follow through I don't let my tip go down naturally. I try to stroke it straight through so my tip is basically at the same height as it was when it hit the cue ball. Seems to get the best action with the least effort.

As for my vote, I'm with the "level as possible" crowd (except for a few special and/or bizarre shots in which you want the cue ball to bounce). I have the scars on my knuckles to prove it.

You would be surprised how many people don't know that. I didn't for a long time and I wondered why the cue ball bounced when I tried to use follow.

Thanks for input. I find that keeping cue level yields the best results too. Most consistent anyway.

I have not read this whole thread and frankly,for me there is no point.

Level.

If on the rail,or over a ball...as level as you can keep it.
Same for draw.

JMHO,but I beleive it to be true.
