Tough Draw

I am pulling for Chavez at Turning Stone, but he has a tough row to hoe. Assuming the biggest name wins, he plays Alcano next, if he wins that one he plays Jose Parica, if he wins he would play Neils Feijen, then SVB.

No tougher than Immonen, who'll likely have to beat Dennis Hatch to earn a shot at Dennis Orcullo. After that, I'm sure he'll draw a few more guys named Dennis. Man, those guys named Dennis are tough!

I was also noticing how tough that section of the bracket is! Looking at the first "quarter" of the chart, there are many names that I don't know so much compared to the second and third "quarters" with so many top players.

Are some of these lesser known (at least to me) players capable of winning that first quarter section? Karen Corr and Ronnie Wiseman seem like the forerunners to me. Maybe new AZ poster Matt Krah will get through? Bob Maidhoff or Matt Tetrault?

I would not count him out. But you are right about the draw. I have seen him beat Orcullo in tourn. short race. So if he is more focused than his opponents he can win. I like his game against Parica and Neils.

I'm not sure if Hatch's name was ever brought up in the "best stroke" threads but it is awesome.
