Hi folks,

I'm pretty to new to all this stuff. I didn't thought there were so much variations on pool table about the cloth, pocket opening, cushion and all!

It is pretty interesting to discover all that!

So the tournament we see on TV, they play on 9 foot table.

What rubber is used for the rail? K55 or K66 or else?
Is this correct that the corner opening is 4.5 inches, which is exactly 2 balls, at its widest part?

Is it correct that the side pocket opening is 5 1/8 inch?

What about the angle of the opening? Any standard angle?

I'm about to have my cloth changed for Simmonis and I thought I'd have the guy shim my pocket as well, but after discovering this forum, I figured that extending sub-rail would be a better solution.

So I'm currently evaluation if I'm going to try it by myself or not.
I'm preparing another post just for that as I do have many questions :)

and I just saw you were the king of mechanics for pool table and I even saw you gave a seminar on how to do most of the repairs.

Is this something you still do from time to time, but I'd be more than interested in learning all that. If you have anything to sell (like DVDs or books).

Anyways, for now, I'd be willing to ship my rails to have someone do the work as I'm not ready to do it myself and simply don't want to wait until i'm ready.
