Tournament Payouts

Do payouts factor into whether you would play in a tournament or not

It is the entry fees/location of tournament which influences which ones I'll play in. I couldn't vote in your poll.

Depends

I would say yes and no. It depends on the overhead really. Things are expensive these days. I must say sometimes it doesn't matter because you might WANT to play. I guess if your ego is lodged up your kiester then you might bail on a tournament because your not subject to winning the "big bucks." I've also seen people drive 60 miles just to realize that it's a benefit. Then they leave with this attitude because it wasn't a benefit for them.
I love pool. Some people involved...not so much.

For me, and most folks I think, there are more reasons than money factored in when I attend an event. I think that only the top few percent of players who are road guys or professionals consider only money and payouts.

I mean, I look at payouts, and they can't be too far out of reason, but money is not the only factor I consider.

I do like to see a fair payout, but at my weak skill level and with a busy schedule, a convenient time and location, and a low entry fee are all I look for.
