I was wondering if anyone knows of any weekly or monthly tournaments around the st. louis area. I just moved here from Columbus, OH and am looking for some good tournaments. Thanks.

First of all...welcome to St. Louis.
The best suggestion I have is to contact is Jim Buss Custom Cues. You can email him direct and ask to be added to his mailing list. He usually is pretty good about keeping everyone up to date on local tournaments.
I also hope you give our pool room a try sometime. You can print out a coupon for playing pool Sun-Thursday half off. Here is the link...

Cut and pasted from last month's e-mail from Jim Buss. HIs list only included Missouri pool rooms, Riverbend in Alton has a weekly handicapped 9 ball tournament at 3 pm and I'm sure there are many other tournaments. Mike Zimmerman also has his monthly amateur tournament (zimsrack on this website).

Also there is the MO State Amateur 9-Ball Championship coming up in mid-February in Columbia, MO. It's a three-round tournament consisting of two round-robins feeding into a double elim, and the top 25 finishers get their money back plus a few bucks. Contact Rack & Roll Billiards at 573-442-9251 for additional info.

The Gateway Amateur 9-Ball Tour is held in the St. Louis/Metro East area. We have two tournaments each month. The Tour Stops are held on the 2nd Saturday and the Qualifiers are held on the 3rd Saturday of each month.
