Tournaments in Portland, OR?

Looking for weekly/monthly 7' tournaments on the East side of Portland (I live in Boring).

I know of a few and play them every once in awhile:

Pub 181 Saturday 9 ball
KC Monday 9 ball
KC Sunday 8 ball
KC Thursday 8 ball
Renegades Wednesday 8 ball

So help me out Portlanders, what else is out there? I'm an APA 7/9, maybe an A- on the 7', so I'm looking for small buy in local stuff.

Thanks in advance!
Tarek

Just pick up a copy of "The Break" when you can. Tournaments are listed in the back pages. Sorry if not much more help than that, but I live 100 miles south of the "weird" city. ;)

I guess I'd better explain...there are bumper stickers that read: "Keep Portland Weird".

I like the one that says "keep Portland beered."

I forgot all about The Break I'll pick one up thanks.

Though last time I tried to hit some tournaments listed there, many of them were no longer running.

In that case, I'd suggest emailing the break...let them know.

If you don't mind driving some, the Cue ball in Salem has a handicapped 9 ball tourney once a month.
I forget if it's the first or 2nd saturday. You could give 'em a ring & ask...

I think the Cue ball has a couple tournaments a months..or the one they had
today was moved because of sweet hearts day..

I'll see what I can find out for you tomorrow. I know there are a few smaller ones out that way, but they're probably mostly B and below. I think Fortune Star has a couple, usually run in 9b, 8b and 9b again.. or at least they did a while ago. I don't think The Break has much listed.. kind of a bummer.. though you may find another one or two in there.

Tarek, you goofball. Go to the Pub 181 and ask there. They will know them all.

btw, I don't think there is a tourney at KC's on Sunday or Thursday.

I know River Road House has an event on sunday evenings. I'm pretty sure it's 10 ball.

How's the cue holding up? Let me know when you need more work.

Hey Craig.

You and Baker didn't show up today, so I got the Vegas spot. I think we play again in a couple of weeks. If you're there, your next beer's on me.

Yes, RRH has a Sunday tourney, somewhere around 6pm if I remember right. Tarek's best bet would be 181 and Fortune Star. The other choices out that way are pretty small from what I know and usually frown on A players taking them off. Domenic's has a Friday tournament and I think they match. What's that place on King Road.. they have Diamonds. Last I knew they had tournaments on Tuesday and Wednesday. Belmont Inn has a Wednesday tournament I'm told, but it probably isn't all that big. I just couldn't think of much else. Maybe Rodder's?

Time for bed, I've got 9b tomorrow and want to be rested up to face Phil and Paul. Can't wait to drop 75c a rack playing that stuff.. :(

See you later,
John

Great job John. My work sent me to Kodiak AK. I'll be back in a few days. APA moved me to the fall regionals. So i hope to win my trip then. Never know, so many good 8 ball players out there....
