Anyone run tournaments on a 9-foot coin-operated tables. Thinking of running the tournament like a 7-foot tournment with a short race and players pay per game. any thoughts?

I personally wouldn't have a problem with it assuming the per game charge is in line with what the table rents for normally. I'm sure a lot of guys expect the tables to be free with their entry fee but I'm not sure I understand why that is if there is no green fee deducted and 100% of the entry money is paid out in the purse.

But I have a feeling you will find my view is in the minority. It is probably an easier sell to just have a flat green fee. While you feed the box at the BCAPL Nationals during competition, I think most guys are used to weekly league nights where the house opens up the tables and play is free in consideration for the food and bar tabs.

Do you have something cooking down here?

Mitchell, I took the 9-footers out and replaced them with 7-footers. The 7-footers make about twice the money. With 7-foot tables this isn't really a question, 7-foot players are used to coin-operated pool tournaments. Joe has been running some tournaments there with a $25 entry and $200 added, we have opened the tables for these events, though.
