Hi all,

I am relocating to the Charlotte (N.C.) area very soon.
Being an avid pool player I was wandering; does any one know of any weekly tourney's in and around the Charlotte area within a 50 mile radius?
Also are there any weekly league events (BCA or APA)?
Replies most gratefully received. Thank you.

Owl - the APA is huge in Charlotte. You can find the BCA & VNEA both as close as Winston-Salem and both systems there are in-house leagues not traveling. As far as the APA, they conduct 14 week sessions and after every session, they have "The Cities" tournament which is in the Carolina Expo Center in North Charlotte. They bring in 80 - 7' Diamond bar boxes, have all variations of tournaments along with cash side tournaments, regional qualifiers, etc... About 6 of the top pro women are in this area including Allison Fisher, Kelly Fisher, etc.

Tournaments are held in various locations and there is a board on the APA website listing places that host weekly tournaments. Some good places to paly are Smokin' Cue in Charlotte, Burrkats in Monroe, Irish Cue in Cornelius, Randolphs in Hickory and some other big tourneys al over the area. Greenville, SC, Raleigh, NC, Charleston, SC, etc all host some of them.

My APA 9 ball team is currently looking to add a couple of players but we are North of Charlotte in Mooresville. If interested, shoot me note.

Good luck with your move and I hope this gives you a decent start on where to look.

I run a eightball tournament at the best poolroom in the Charlotte NC area every friday night starting at 7:30 sharp. Double elimination full apa races in winners and losers side and we also offer APA and Eightball Express leagues. We are in the process of moving into a new building and my tournament will restart on Friday May the 2nd and everyone is welcome. The room name is Rackem and has been in Matthews a surburb of Charlotte for many years the phone # is 704-847-7665 and the new building is on the edge of Charlotte in Windsor Square shopping center off of Independence Blvd and will have 16 full size tables and 2 bar tables to start with. Feel free to pm me with any questions--Leonard

Oh I forgot the Rackem draw card--if you play league any night out of Rackem you get free pool all day and night Sunday through Thursday on the best kept simonis covered tables in the area (maybe the world)
