Trade places with a pro?

If you had the chance to trade places with a pro which one of them would it be? Only living pros. That would mean you have to give up everything you now have and you would assume everything he has.

Would your life be better?

I wouldn't trade my life for anybody's. I enjoy what I do and have no regrets. Although if I had to trade for a pro's. I suppose I'd go with the Miz. He seems pretty laid back and easy going. Plus I heard he's pretty well off financially.

Id' trade with Jeannete Lee. That way I can see her whole body. :p

Then you wouldn't have time to play pool anymore, you'd spend your time in front of a mirror :p

I'd much rather play pool for a living than working at my job. I wouldn't trade the rest of my life though. My family is way too precious to me!! I like Mika's game and lifestyle. He seems like he's got it going on.

i would trade with steve davis, play pool at the mosconi and world championship, when i'm not playing i'm commentating which i love, i'm signing autographs because i'm famous from the television , and i get to be cheufered around in this years rolls royce, as it drives up to my castle in the country side. ahhh, yes, life is sweet!

Joseph,
Perhaps you'd be better off trading with George Breedlove (better break, other fringe benefits).

This is a really weird and silly post but I will participate anyway. I would have to go with Johnny Archer. Solid player, makes a decent living and his wife Melanie is beautiful. No offense Johnny, but I would have to keep my physical features though.

Guys,

Some great ideas here!

I guess I'd trade with Mike Sigel. Just for a week at a pro event. To see what it is like to be the best ever (IMHO) at the sport I love would be "priceless". As I've grown older, I've become satisfied with what I've been given. Wishing for more? It couldn't hurt! Or could it?

There are many pros I admire and their dedication as well.I admire Allison, karen, Ralf souquet, Mika, Mike Davis, keith and many others, But I have no desire to play pool for 8 hours a day so that I can be the best. Pool is a game to me, a hobby. And just like when I took karate and played tennis, I always try to do my best and to keep improving.

As a woman, you also have to jump through a bunch of hoops to get into the pro events, which to me is kind of silly. Good men can just sign up and plop down the money. I never liked a bunch of rules anyway and would not jump through all of the hoops, even if I was good enough to compete at that level. So a non handicapped tournie like Planet or cat on ocasion, will satisfy me once i start doing this, probably in a year.

I have other hobbies too, including photography, target practice at the range with my glock ( took riflery as a child and have always liked guns to do as a sport), dogs, a husband and would not be willing to give up all for any sport, even if I was physically capable and have no desire to be a pro. If I were THAT good, I think that playing in men's events where there are A-B players would give me quite enough competition, just like it did in Karate when I became better than the majority of the women.

Now, now, Jimmy.

Anyway, I was just wondering who's lifestyle you would want for your own. Retaining your own family but being in the limelight that a particular pro has.

Would you leave the USA to live in Europe or the Philipines or Asia?

Would you really give up the comfort, and security of your present job?

Would you really want the uncertainity of having to play in the tournaments knowing that if you lose, your popularity fades fast? As does your income.

Would your family stick with you? Especially when you are flying all over the place.

Somehow, I seriously doubt that there is any pro out there that I would trade places with. To play like them? Hell yes. But to have to live their lifestlyes, I don't think so. Too much uncertainity. Too much traveling and living out of a suitcase. And too many other people/players hoping you fail.

All joking aside, I wouldn't want to be any of them as I like who I am.I also like the challenge of learning this game myself, although getting to their level while I learn would certainly be a blast. Some of them are really struggling to make a living and it can be tough. I know one pro( been on TV) who has a black cue case with red tape on it holding it together.

Some of them have done quite well and others have had to write books, teach lessons and make videos etc.etc to crank out a living because pool just doesn't offer the money like snooker does. It's not as glamorous (for some) as it seems. It's hard ,hard work.RJ

If I HAD to switch with a pool player, I think i'd choose Allison Fisher. She's laid back, and easy going. I watched an interview on her once after a match, and she was so friendly, and outgoing. That is me with an improved game!!

I like my life though. Plus, if you look at the number one pool players income from pool last year, it is right around poverty level...you couldn't just play pool!! You'd have to have some great sponsers, and maybe another job. What fun is that?
