Having seen most of the action spots in the last 30 years i was thinking about some of the trap tables I have seen and the player that reigned supreme on those tables. What poolroom do you think had the table that was the biggest trap, and who excelled on that table and what made it so tough for example I seen everything from pockets cut different, long rails that roll out or in, humidity so high like playing on shag carpet, dead rails, live rails, extra diamonds on the table to give house pro advantage kicking banking, etc.

The room i grew up in had a corner pocket that had an extra shim in one pocket.
Another room had a chair rail at the foot end of the table thAt one could use to advantage if you left the cb right. I mentioned it to burns recently, so that might be fixed.
hmmm, I guess after your travels of 30 years, I'd like to hear your take.

A bar table at one of our old pool halls had two diamonds on each rail rather than three. I never played on the bar table but I sure noticed that BS.
We've got a super tight 4" Diamond Professional with one corner pocket that's a little tighter than the others... Great for one hole if the other guy doesn't know. The thing is those two pockets are on the break end of the table. I've watched people get conned into playing on that end, supposedly to "not get in the way" of an adjacent table (lot's of room on the break end, another table on the rack end).
There's another with a long rail that rolls out. Can't make anything close to the rail past the side pocket. If you hit it hard enough it doesn't roll it will surely rattle out.... Unless you crank it in with some inside english. Most players don't know that. Won me a couple games.

Jamie Goodwin had a table at his place in Battle Creek, Michigan that he played a lot of champions on getting very little weight. He more than held his own. Played pretty tough. Al Jones beat quite a few road players back in the day on the bar table at the Mortgage Inn in Chesterton, In.
The old table seven at the LV Cue Club. GC II if I remember correctly. Toby Flaherty had a huge advantage on the table versus out of town players. The floor was a roller coaster around the table. Really tight pockets. Perfect one hole table for him. Henry replaced the table with a Diamond Pro / Am a few years ago. Just not the same.
