Pretty sure that's the guy. He seemed cool and was rebuilding them I think. He seemed knowledgeable. I can't vouch as I opted for a dro.

Tommy it moves with your carriage and reads out the full length of your bed. I am lost without it, the new lathe I got doesn't have one. Still looking for one.
 
For a few dollars more I can get that $400 DRO, looking for that TAD though.

What I like about a TAD is they don't take up the room a DRO does - especially if you have a long taper bar set up.

I had a spare TAD that sat around for over 10 yrs (minus the mount). I recently traded it for an old 3/4 hp motor w/reverse.
