Travelling with cue from dry climate to humid climate?

I'm going to be travelling a bit coming up and I'd like to bring a cue with me. My only concern is that I will be leaving this cold dry wasteland of a place (Calgary) and headed to a very warm and humid place. Do I have to worry about my cue warping? I've been thinking of bringing my player, which is a Mezz, but I'm not sure if I want to risk it and might just bring a different cue I don't care about as much.

I have been to nine countries and fifteen states with my 70's JOSS. Did it "move"? Probably. Wood moves.

If you want to play with your cue then you will have to take it with you. You'll have to worry about a lot of other things happening to the cue too...especially if you are flying. But it's a Mezz. Just buy another one if it gets screwed up. It's not a custom, not irreplaceable, it's mass produced. Buy three so you have a couple back-ups. Problem solved.

They are available at Walmart: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Mezz-Cues-USA-Pool-Cue-Stick/16220213

I'm sure you can find some type of case that's insulated.
Not insolated. My bad.

I agree with chopdoc, warping would probably be the least of my worries. I'd just make sure to have a decent hard case and labeled it well.

So long as you keep the cue in temperature controlled environment I don't think you will have any major problems. You may experience a little expansion, however, when you return to where left from it will most likely return to it's original state over time. I have gone down to Las Vegas to play from Washington State. Since it is so dry in Vegas I noticed that there was some shrinkage around the collars and ferrules after 4 or 5 days. However, when I returned to Washington State the problem corrected itself in about the same amount of time.

Just don't leave your cue in directly sun light, near any heat source or in the trunk of a car, because if you do you could do damage that can't be repaired.
