Triangle tip

How are you finishing the side of your tip? I'm having trouble getting mine to finish up when I burnish with leather or plastic.

Best asked in the cuemaker section...but here goes...
A thin coat of thin CA is the choice of many. I just use my secret sauce. Allowing Hightowers shaft sealer to soak in before the burnish works well...also I'm sure the Tiger dressing works well too. The Triangle sides are rather dry & porous and need a nice dressing to polish up best. Truthfully...if you are having problems dressing your tip edge...should you really be doing it anyway? I know of NO one who burnishes with "plastic". Plain brown cardboard & spit work fine for most. After you get it perfect then hit it with a Sharpie...let dry...then wipe off the excess.
I guess I should ask...are you using a lathe? If not...there is 99% of your problem.;)

Lathe not available. I am burnishing with plastic or leather, which ever works better. I could try cardboard. I size the diameter with a Big Shaver and sandpaper.

I may have to try a seal coat of CA.
