Trophies, medals and awards

On Sunday we held our end of year 8-ball tournament at the local American Legion and I am pleased to announce I came in first, my complaint is the 30 inch trophy I have no place to put in my house? On the way home I stopped by a friends house, lugging my trophy along, and we got to talking about awards and stuff as he showed me probably a dozen dart trophies on top of his refrigerator in the garage. Now that's a fine place to display your awards for talent! I got to thinking about it this morning and I think I am going to turn my monstrosity of a trophy into one where each years winner gets his name engraved on it and leave it at the Legion. I would also like to change the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards to medals next year. Searching the net this morning I found several sites that do them for about $5 to $10 bucks each and was wondering about the quality. Anyone have any dealings with ordering online medals? quality, price and service? good, bad recommendations would be most appreciated.

thats a cool idea!...maybe scribe the winners name on the big trophy, and give them a tiny version to bring home. I'd rather see my name every time I went to the pool room on a trophy there, than have to bring everyone from the pool room to my house to see it!:D

We have so many there stacked up on the shelfs and in every corner there is. The really tall ones(City champion etc etc) are on top of the ice machine.:)

I too am space short in my home, and have no room for any trophies. How about a Stearling Trophy Buckle like in Rodeo instead of those normal Trophies.....

I take the engraved plate off and keep it, then give the trophy to the youth leagues. For some reason everyone thinks that a big trophy is great to give out. If you look at them they are mostly made up with just a longer filler piece in the middle between the base and top. If you wanted to you could take it apart and make it shorter.

For me I would rather have a small plaque or cerificate and more money don't need any more dust collectors.

Our local high school cleans out it's trophy cases every year and gets rid of non state title stuff that is over 10 years old sometimes sooner. Lets face it, a trophy for participation loses it's meaning when you are winning state championships.
