Getting back in the game after a long long time (18 years) and Looking to sell, trade, barter off my laptop (not the wifes she would kick my ass! She might still if she gets wind of this!) for some pool equipment. I have a small shopping list so I am up for and will entertain all offers or deals. This laptop is in mint condition and will run Windows Vista if so desired. There are more goodies coming with it that are not in the photo.
PM me if you want more photos or information.

These are just guidelines to give an idea what I am looking for.
A good break/jump cue like Proficient Billiards "Sneaky Pete"
a McDermott cue along the lines of the Tournament Series EF-1 "Blade"
McDermott either i-1 or i-3 shaft
a 2 butt 4 shaft case
and any other misc goodies that get thrown in the bag are welcome.

This system is in mint condition used less than 50 hours since new. Batteries have been
cycled regularly to prevent a "memory" allowing full charge and full runtime. This laptop
has 2 media bays for DVD, Zip, or two batteries for a 4 hour runtime. It is the same
as the current systems using the Mobile Pentium-4 platform. Paid 2300.00 new.

I think you'll have a hard time trading for 2 cues and a case. Your laptop is worth about $350 (Max) according to prices on ebay.

Yep thats an old school laptop. I remember iomega zip drives from when i was college about 6 years ago. Good condition though. GL

Its worth a little more than that with everything that comes with it. :) Also ease back to the top and see where my "shopping list" says "guidelines" so people can see what kinds of things I am looking for, not my exact expectations. New, used, it doesn't matter, the important thing is that it finds a good home and both parties are happy.

Old School? I guess thats what I get for getting old. This laptop has not been used much at all. No one but myself has used it so it has been kept up. I wouldnt be trying to wheel and deal except Friday i got notice my job is going to Mexico and end of October is my last day. So the cash stays in the bank and I get into barter mode.

Well I know how that is. I was just laid off after 13 years with no severance pay or anything. All I got was a handshake. Good luck.

I have several cues and cases that I would trade you. When I get home this evening I will make a list of what I have and email it to you if you are serious about this. All I need is a email address you can send it to mikev_wvufan@yahoo.com.

I know BHQ is having computer problems. He makes a fine cue you ought to hit him up.

I really hate to be beating up on someone I dont know. Just got to this forum and would like to stay awhile LOL!

I was replying to Bishops post about talking to someone about my deal. Nothing else :)

Don't be dismayed Edman, I don't think you'll have any problem getting a J/B cue, a nice playing cue, and a decent case in a trade for that laptop. I for one have a lot of cues, all nice, some of which don't suit me all that well. Personally, I think that you can do better than a McDermott.

As an aside, I'm surprised at a senior member of this board queering your deal. It's just not done. People are often trying to sell or trade something here and have an inflated idea of it's worth. The right thing to do is just not to buy, but we don't slam the value of a seller's item or trade. Maybe I'm a big dolt, but I would have made a sweet offer of a trade until I saw Hal's post. Now he's got me running to check your pc's selling value. Just my .02...Tom

I wasn't trying to queer his deal. I checked the prices on ebay before I made my post.

Actually hasn't queered my deal at all. I have had some very nice and flattering offers and I am considering a few right now.

EBay is not a very good place to check for prices on computer equipment. For one thing you do not know what you are getting. Most laptops sold on Ebay more than a year old are bought from large companies when they upgrade equipment and then sell the old laptops off at auctions, donations, etc. These are then fixed up by adding new keyboards at 10.00 each and maybe a 40.00 screen. Then you have something pretty that has had the crap run out of it. My company follows this practice disposing of hardware.

I back what I sell and who ever I deal with will get that up front. I don't buy, sell and trade junk I have laying around just to make a buck or get something for nothing. When I sell something I have worked hard for its for a reason. And the reason now is I lose my job in October and need to save cash but want to get back on the table. Make an offer if I don't like it all I can say is no thanks. :)

Have some good offers so far. Trying to decide. anyone else interested jump right in.

Thanks

The Edman
