TSA to Allow Pool Cues as carry on -

They postponed the changes allowing pool cues indefinitely. Bummer I am leaving tomorrow for a month and was looking forward to bringing my cue.

I'm traveling in June on vacation and I really wanted to bring a cue.... Oh well

Is a cue case considered a carry-on, or a personal item (handbag or briefcase), which most airlines don't count as carry-on.

Depends on the airline and if its a full flight, my understanding is if it can only be stored overhead because of size its considered a carry-on. I don't think you will have an issue but you may be asked to check something. My last trip a couple of weeks ago, the rule for personal item(s) and carry-on was enforced at boarding. All personal items have to fit under the seat and carry-on luggage has to go over head and meet certain dimensions. The dimensions of an average case will put it in the carry-on luggage category.

The boarding agent was asking people to check their bags at the gate and required some, on the plus side no cost was incurred for checking the bags at the gate. But several people with a backpack (small) and a carry-on we're required to check the bag, however this was a full flight.

no change at southwest

I just got back form Vegas and Southwest airlines wouldn't allow me to bring my cues on and they said most airlines won't does anyone know of an airline that will?

Your question is kind of pointless. Pool cues are not allowed per the TSA and you probably shouldn't have gotten past security with them. In any event, I doubt any airline would have a policy of allowing any item that is on the TSA prohibited items list.

NONE will allow you to carry pool cues as "Carry-on".

And you can't carry on a 7" ice pick but you can carry on a 7" Screwdriver. :nono:
