It doesn't look good. I called the 2 rooms in Tucson and neither have 3C tables (Pockets used to have a couple tables but no more). It was suggested to call Pockets (520) 571-9421 tomorrow and ask for Eric, he may know more. I will try but not able to do so until late afternoon, but anyone can call.

Roberto Rojas tables

I played at a place that had the Roberto Rojas "Spider" model 10 ft, heated, Euro rubber billard tables once in Tuscon. I forgot the name of the billiard hall but it is located in what used to be a restaurant at one time. There was also another place across town that had some Verhoevens.

Cafe Bida???

I really don't know if there was a Cafe Bida, because while I was in town I did not notice many Vietnamese stores or any asian Stores for that matter. Tuscon had a big VA hospital.

I spoke w/Lenny at Pocket's Billiards and he said there was a room that had 4 tables on the the south side (may have bought the 2 they had), but wasn't sure of its name or when it opened. He was nice enough to look it up on Google Maps and this is what he found:

It is a tin corrugated building or roof located on the southwest corner of 6th Ave and 32nd St in S. Tucson. He read the sign from GMaps and he said it read "Billiards/Pool Hall" w/the phone number of 520-591-2142.

Lenny was very helpful as Eric was not in when I called.

Good luck and I hope this info is correct.

3CushionBillliards.com is the best resource for finding rooms with carom tables around the country... The Where-To-Play directory is constantly being updated... as new rooms are discovered (or even open!) and (sadly) as old rooms go out of business or ditch their lonely 3-cushion tables. I personally research the rooms myself and confirm who, what, where, etc.

According to my initial research the Tucson room pictured above is known as Billiards El Sur and has been open in South Tucson for 15 years. Click here to read more about its history. No final word on whether there are 3-cushion tables... yet.

I have started a listing for Billiards El Sur in Tucson Arizona on my site... If anyone visits this room please take pictures inside and let us know if they have those 3-cushion tables.

Billiards El Sur - Initial Room Listing

PLEASE SEE NEXT POST FOR UPDATE - THIS ROOM IS OPEN AND HAS FOUR TABLES!

Remember... if you find a room... or know of any changes... PLEASE... let me know. Thanks to all for your support.

Update - Update - Update

I just spoke with Luis Carranza who operates what is now known as the Mancave Billiard Club. (Formerly Billard El Sur as indicated in the prior post!)

He sent me inside pictures and reports that the room has 4 tables...two Verhoeven and two Spider.

Here is the revised listing:

Luis will be playing in the upcoming tournament at Casino Del Sol.

Dogloose, 3kushn, or Azer's Members .... Did any Players at the 3C Tournament make it to the Billiard Room , we post about in Tucson???

I was in Tuscon to watch the tourney and remember seeing a banner advertising "Mancave" with a local phone. Was not impressed. looked a bit intimidating.

I checked Dougs listing for the mancave. Thanks for keeping your places to play up to date, Doug.
Looks like a nice place, from the pictures. Whomever commented about it being intimidating looking, is a spoiled american...go inside and introduce yourself.

We played at the Mancave +]two days before the tournament in Tucson. We sought it out walked in and were treated very well by the many players they're at the time. Although it is a private club the public is welcome. Very welcome. The tables were not tournament quality but they were very well. Enjoy. GE
