turning shaft down

I have a freind that wants me to turn a shaft down from a 13mm to a 11.75mm for snooker. I usually just turn the ferrule down to size and then sand the shaft down to match the ferrrule. My question is am I going to have any trouble after I sand that much shaft away with the shaft warping. I would be taking more off when sanding this down than when I take a pass on my lathe turning shafts for my cues. I am afraid to take a pass with my router because it has a slight wobble. I am also wondering if that wobble can affect the sanding of the shaft.

Thanks for the input.

i don't like sanding that much, but some don't mind.personally,i don't like sanding more than 1/4mm at a time.i also would rather try to cut the wobble out before i tried to sand it out.

if you do sand,go slow and try to avoid heat building up,maybe do it over a week's time.

if you cut the shaft it will be oval in the middle bc you will take more off one side and none off the other. depending to how bad the warp is you might get past it woth the amount you are taking off. i sand a good amount but i use a large peice of sand paper so its even. 1.25mm seems alot to sand. i like to sand off about 1/4 mm max also. lot of work.

i think its pick your poisoncant really mess the shaft up sanding but its alot more work.

this post was abso no help what so ever and you may be more confused now then before :D :D :D
