Van Boening won his match 9-0. In the last game, he pulled off a 3-rail two-way shot on the 7 ball, and ended up making it to get out for the victory. Had he not made the 7, the ball speed appeared to be right for the defensive shot with the 9 in-between. 8 hanging in the side, done deal.

Shane missed a tough cut on the 9 with the cue by the side pocket and the 9 near the opposite rail halfway down. That would have put him hill-hill with Moore and the break. He never looked comfortable enough with the shot, pausing and standing up many times for a few minutes before shooting it. Do or die shot.

Alex's earlier match against Hatch, 9-0 I believe, was a clinic of what top players are capable of. I think Dennis only got to shoot at the cue ball 5 times or so.
