Two 14s in a row! I'm thinking this is pretty incredible.

I have a friend (also my teacher, though I'm taking a little break now) that had two 14s in a row in One Pocket. He humbly says, "but it happened on easy conditions." I think it was a Gandy table and the pockets are rather receptive. I still think this is really something. I was told that is wasn't like 'balls all over the place' either. There was plenty of work to do to accomplish it. Easy tables or not I don't think this happens very often.

Congratulations to StedyFred.

Captain,
Avast there. I thought most one-pocket games were played to 8 (or possibly 9 or 10 or 11 or 12 if you're Efren playing me). I would guess that most top pro's are pretty close to even money to run all 15 with a good break - wasn't there a thread where Corey Deuel was wagering on this and then did it 2 or 3 times in a row (at 2-1 odds or something like that) before the bettor pulled up?????

I'm not sure we have a really good idea how difficult it is because most people stop at 8, and most people are playing against another person trying defensive ball moving to keep it from happening.

P.S. - If your friend is spotting you 15-1, then you need more lessons:) :) .

I'm sure there was a spot. He wasn't shooting me, I just heard about it through the grapevine. I doubt that it was 15-1. I think it was a somewhat freindly game and when Fred got to game point he just ask the guy to let him see how far he could get.

When your saying "Good break" do you mean a 'One Pocket break' or do you mean bust them up pretty good without sending them up table. This was from a game playing break or a couple shots afterward.

Cap,
I meant a good one-pocket break that leaves some easy shots in your hole, not many near your opponents hole, and easy "key balls" to break the pack. I find a "bust 'em up" break leaves too many balls away up the table.

I am NOT a one-pocket expert, but have run a 13 and a 15 from breaks like I describe (just for fun; that IS what pool is about). To me its all about degree of difficulty (mine were relatively easy; the result of lucky spreads); other runs of 5 or 6 are almost herculean in comparison.

you can spot someone anything you want..... I've seen Danny Green give up 18-3.... it just means that he automatically owes like 5 balls and then the game is 13-3. He was definately playing a weak player and ended up winning about 7k and the guys truck.
