Nice cue....Push :D

FYI, fancy South West cues will be the biggest hit in cue collecting business by the the of the year after the bluebook comes out. For those ebay & AZ lurkers, probably you have noticed that there are not many fancy SWs in the market since the Valley Forge show this year. Want to know why I want to sell them? I have 10+ fancy SW cues and I need to unload some of them to get a fancy DPK.

Poolchady,

What are you looking for ($) on the 99-461? Do you have any more pics & what is the weight? Do you have any other fancy SWs other than these two.

Thanks,
Tonyboy59

Just wondering about the #489 cue you say the points are cocobola but they look like ebony points???? Thanks, John
P.S. What are you looking for for this cue????

It's spelled "Sale" as in Ca$h, not "sail" as in I need a lot of wind to get this boat moving... :D ;)

I like the cues but don't consider them "Fancy" for a Southwest...

I consider this a Fancy Southwest...

Also, I have never considered this place an Auction and think if you are going to offer something here for "Sale" to the members, you should also include and asking price and include OBO or Willing To Negotiate....

Making people PM or E-mail you for a price or an offer is silly IMHO...

My $.02

I like the way you think.....................................

I think that people post their cues without a price in the hope that some moron will offer way more than it is worth. This is ultimately an excercise in futility in my opinion. Everyone ends up asking for the price in private pm's and e-mails anyway....which further irritates all parties involved.

Hell, just put the cue on ebay and be done with the silly "hope and pray" post. Or, state " I'm starting the bidding at $_____, and ending the bidding on _______??" Or, "I would like to get $_________, but I realize that I am probably dreaming, so please make some offer close to that, pretty please."

First let me state that I have nothing to do with this sale, but I have seen some of the fancy Southwest owned by Chady while I was visiting Taiwan during the World Pool Championship 2005, and I would like to state my humble opinion here for whatever it is worth. ;)
I had the pleasure of seeing some of the most fanciest Southwest I have ever seen when I met Chady. Some of his fancy Southwest cues are not only one of a kind, but also in very good shape. He also let me hit a few of his cues and I really appreciate that.
When I was buying cues, I like to negotiate the price in private because if the price is being disclosed on a public forum, it may affect its investment value in the future. After all, a lot of highend cues are purchased as an investment. I like to be more discreet and I appreciate a seller who has the decency to excise that.
It is indeed quite a common prastice in high end cue sales to see the $ASK sign under price. You will see that in Lucky's web site among other sites. It has nothing to do with an auction--in an auction, there will be a starting price which is not the case here.
Anyway, I appreciate the pictures posted by Chady because we do not get to see those cues everyday. I have seen a lot of so called "fancy" Southwest before which are not one-of-a-kind and the inlay/scrimshaw patterns are quite common and predictable. Chady likes to collect unique Southwest. I remember he showed me a Southwest with music note engraved on ivory inlays which was really unique and fancy. Chady is a very knowledgable Southwest collector and a personal friend of Laurie Franklin. He is a very serious collector and a professional dealer.
In my opinion for whatever it is worth, this is a free forum whereas members are allowed to disclose the price to whoever they please; also, this is a forum about pool and pool cues, most people do not pay too much attention to spelling when they post here becasue that is not the point. I come here to look at pool cues and to hear comments on cues. Thank you very much for all those who have contributed in those areas.
Richard<---not really a Southwest kind of a guy:-)

This is "Wanted/For Sale" forum. If you don't want to buy, don't reply.
If you have other opinions, post it on the other forum.

I disagree with your statement that these aren't "fancy". From a cue collector standpoint, anything that SouthWest cues makes that is not either a plain forearm or their "satin" cue, or is simply a plain 6 pointer is fancy in our eyes, and they bring $$$.

Yes, I agree with you. By the way, I would love to see a picture of your Corsair if you don't mind, may be in a new thread?
Thank you.
