Two great banks for the win

Played in an 8ball league last nigh, I don't get to play 8ball that often although I really like the game.

In one of the matches I was leading 1-0, at the second game I run all my group balls but had no shot on the 8 as it was close to the bottom rail and the five blocked the pocket. I played safe and banked the 8 to freeze it the 6ball, my opponent made one ball and missed leaving me with this layout, I called that bank and made it.... sweet 2-0 :grin-square:

CueTable Help

On another match I played a really good player, we were at hill-hill and it was my break (playing alternating breaks). I broke and got a ball in and run all my group balls. The 8ball was in a middle of a cluster of my opponent balls, on my last ball I hit the cluster with the cue ball hoping to free it but got hooked behind one of the balls. I kicked and my opponent run a few balls and missed leaving me this layout.

I called that bank shot knowing that if I miss I loose.... I made it and won the game and match

It was a good night :grin-square:

nice shots. Not to be a nitpick but was the 1 rail bank in the second situation blocked? You can pinch that sort of bank quite a lot even if it's off angle.

Yes it was, the lay out I made here is not completely accurate, I had no other shot, I couldn't cross bank it to either side and that was the only option that jumped to me after looking at the table for a minute or two... Once the 8ball left the second rail I knew I got it....

First shot was a bit harder then it looks as well as I forgot to add a ball above the 8ball and more forward that if my aim and shot was off by a few millimeters I would hit it and foul...
