Here are a couple of my Craftsman cues. I wonder who out there has
ever seen and/or played with a Craftsman? Very nice indeed, with tremendous feel, and both hit extremely solid.
One is straight grain maple with a center joint, ebony full splice (4 splices) and a buttsleeve of AAAAA grade Amboyna Burl with a full splice (4 splices). Each splice is separated by a green stained maple splce which runs down the full section of the Amboyna butt sleeve. The shafts are straight grain maple with an amalgamation of a pro taper and European taper profile.
The second is gorgeous Snakewood butt with 4 butterfly hand splices (snakewood) into straight grain maple. Centre split with brass joint. Gold craftman badge with initials. Straight grain maple shafts. Your thoughts and comments are most welcome. Brett

Yeah, I've played with many a Craftsman cue over the past 18 months- 2 years. Fine snooker cues that Dave Brown makes. Can i ask if you got these cues of my old pal The Diamond? :D

Are these snooker or pool cues?

Adios,

Pizza Bob

The one (ebony) is strictly a pool cue, while the other (snakewood) has both a snooker (9mm) and pool (13mm) shaft. I play both cue's 9-ball, and I view them both as awesome in playability. Thanks your question. Brett

Jason,
Thanks your affirmation, having played Craftsman. He also makes very sweet pool cues. And as you say, he makes tremendous snooker cues as well.
Yes indeed, I am proud to say, I did get both of these from Simon, who, (I would like to add), is a super guy to deal with, and proud to call 'friend'.

Yeah i've known Simon for a good 4 years now and i've had some quality cues from him myself. I used to play pool with him regularly but have taken a break from 9ball to concentrate on snooker and english 8ball. He won't steer you wrong on a good cue!

play?

They do play very well, and reasonably priced. A Craftsman would make a nice addition to any collection. Thanks your reply on cosmetics.. coming from you (a gentleman with your world class taste), that's says a great deal.

I helped a friend of mine pick out a design for a Parris Cue about a month ago. They have very similar designs. My friends cue will have Thuya Burl for the butt. The cue will be modified for billiards and his shaft specifications. I will post some pics of it when it arrives.... oh in about a month or so. ;)

Why don't you 2 get a room, it's apparent to almost everyone here (I Hope) that you guys are already friends and your act isn't really that good. I also wonder (to myself) why I always have to be the one to mention these things?

Do not understand what these comments have to do with the photos
the Craftsman'. That is the subject matter here. I was complimenting
Bill on his comments about the Cues. I hope that kind words of appreciation are still allowed without being labeled in any particular way....You see, cues represent 'stress relief' for me, and that's it. I certainly don't make money with them, strictly a (small time) collector. Since you mentioned 'friends'.. yes, I am proud to call Bill a friend, because he is one of the good guy's in my small world of collecting (maybe not your world, but mine). The fact that you recognize that we are friends, is a 'feather in your cap', in terms of recognition skills.. good on ya. Hopefully, the longer I am involved in cue collecting, I will endeavor to make even more friends, cause in the long run, that's one of the beauties of collecting, and there are some 'neat people' in this big ole world of ours. I will look for photo's some of your cue's in the future, and will properly comment about my thoughts your cues, cause betcha you have a great collection with as much interest you have in these cue forums. Note: Sorry that you feel my 'act' is lacking.. funny though, I've never even thought about my life activites as being an 'act'.

Dear Monski,
Thanks your input. I look forward to seeing your posting the Parris Cue,
with the similar design to Craftsman. Thx, Brett

I also like Bill, but I don't feel obligated to comment every time he posts because of it, and in turn he doesn't feel a need to reciprocate. It's just strange to see 2 people who obviously know each other kiss each other's ass like they have never met.

I don't believe I've ever said anything about owning a cue and I'm also sure I won't be posting many pictures of them here unless of course I wanted to sell them ;-)

I'm starting to agree with you, and that's why I haven't (heretofore) shown
any of my cues on this forum (and I have alot of sweet ones), because of the re-direction of subject matter by certain members. This will probably end up being my first & last posting... Respect.

Dont let JimBo get you rattled, he is very Jaded. Jimbos comment was totally uncalled for! The moderaters will eventually send him back to RSB Hell where he belongs. :p :p :p :D :D

Thanks your comments. I like a little sparring fun myself, from time to time,
but based on relevent and meaningful issues. This guy just seems to be
contentious for no other reason than to throw off the direction of a particular thread. He should take the time, start his own thread and so be it, but don't de value mine with childish little barbs with no relevence to my subject matter. Go ahead & speak your mind about my posted item, but don't come with this 'get a room' crap, because I may a nice comment to a fellow member.

JimBo is a well known Internet Bully! I cannot understand why he is like he is? It would take a battery of Shrinks to figure out his twisted little mind! I pay this guy no attention...they whither on the vine without it... like a weed without water! JimBo almost never posts anything meaningful...what does this tell you?? I WOULD RATHER HAVE FAST LARRY ON HERE THAN jIMbo!!!! :p :p

Duly noted and thanks your comments.
What do you think of the Craftsman from a cosmetic point of view?
Wish I could have made them larger so as to appreciate the wood and especially that snakewood.. beautiful grain. Any thoughts? Thanks again and hope to communicate with you in the future. Brett

Both cues are veeery nice looking! I really like the one with the butterfly splices. I would shoot with either anyday.
