I know that it is probably hard to tell for sure from a picture, but does anyone have an idea what type of wood this forearm is construted from?

Looks like Tulipwood. It's sometimes difficult to tell from a picture on the internet.

I agree....it could be either...maybe bubinga??

certain woods vary so much it's hard to tell without being the one that built the cue...just like the leopard and lacewood debate...
I've found cocobolo with extremely varied grain patterns...

my own best guess would be Mexican Coca,
based on the Orange tint and the whirly swirly
patterns in the grain

as someone has already pointed out
there is so much variation in the Tropical Exotic hardwoods
that it can be near immpossible to tell what is what,
even when you are holding a chunk of wood in your hands

Dale Pierce(who once thought there was only one Rosewood)

Action cues makes some sneaky pete cues that they like to call cocobolo. I sell them and can tell you that it is not quite like the cocobolo you see here in America used by American cue makers. It is a bit more pronounced and orange... VERY much like your pic. I call it "Taiwanese Cocobolo", given the Action cues origin, and the fact that I have never seen that wood elsewhere.

Here is a sample photo of it, although the photo here does not quite match what I have seen in person as well as your pic does.

I would be willing to bet that the cue you have pictured is also from Taiwan and that the same company made that cue, with the wood I am talking about (whatever that is).
