U.S. Customs

Has anyone ever had a problem with U.S. Customs before? I ordered a cue case from overseas and it only took 2 days to get to New York and the tracking status says passed through USPS sorting facility. Now according to the tracking it has been "Inbound Into Customs (New York)" for 2 weeks. The case was shipped international express delivery and should have taken 3-5 days for delivery. I live a 5 hour drive away from New York. When I have called the Post Office for help they tell me that they have not taken possession of the item yet (even though the status says it has been sorted through their facility) so they can do nothing to help me. The seller is trying to see what he can do on his end, but the fact is that the USPS has my case and won't take responsibility for it or try to help me in any way with this situation. Does anybody have any ideas on what my next step should be, because I am clueless. This is a lot of money for me. :frown:

in bound to customs means it is sitting in a big bonded customs warehouse facility waiting to be checked for illegal import stuff whether it be drugs , endangerd material, organic, etc...could take a week 5-7 days to clear, dont be alarmed, always happens with stuff I get from Asia...........:(

It has been in New York for 2 weeks already. The case maker says that this isn't normal. It should have been delivered within a week at the most.

The held a replacement screen for an Iphone3 for over a month... Something strange is going on recently....... AM still awaiting a christmas gift I ordered well before Christmas that shows being delivered into NY......

If anybody in New York sees a U.S. Customs employee in a pool hall around NYC with a 3x6 black leather tooled case do me a favor and kick his ass for me. :bash:

what is your problem? why would you intentionally go onto someones thread just to be an a## hole? Its people like you that AZ does not need... How bout grow up.

my thread...http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=264075

Are you even serious? I am truly deeply sorry and you have my most sincere regret and apology that you have no sense of humor.

BTW - You just did the same thing you accused me of. You need to grow up and take the stick out of your ass. If you want to know why you're post was removed, send a PM to Mr. Wilson, Dennis ... duh :nanner:

It seems a lot of ppl are waiting on stuff from China that us being held up. I've bem waiting for over a month now on something. I did a search and found similar stories right now going on 60 days.

whats the problem

Actually i do have a since of humor when need be, not when im actually asking people for help on a situation that i have never encountered .
and i turned to other AZ'ers for info because i did not know who to contact,
so your posted reply was at the time not necessary , sorry your post was not amusing .

I'm sorry. I just noticed your from West Virginia and that explains a lot. If I had been aware of that this whole confrontation could have been avoided.

Oh and keep up that 'since' of humor! :rotflmao1:

But make sure it's only when need be.

Not sure what is happening with others but our shipments ususally get to the customer within five days. We don't ship via the post office though so perhaps our stuff clears easier.

This is coming from Erofey in the Ukraine. Like I said the tracking shows it reached New York in 2 days. I'm starting to think someone at customs has sticky fingers. He also said his cases usually arrive in about 5 days.

Seems a lot are waiting on stuff from Hong Kong which is where my stuff is coming from. Right now I am still giving the sender the benefit of the doubt considering how common this is apparently happening right now.

I had a cue shipped from Canada take 2 months to get to me. It was VERY frustrating and customs was ZERO help. They could care less.

How about this: Had a USED camera shipped here to me in China. Chinese customs stopped it and assessed a 20% import tax on it based on the NEW price of a 3 year old camera. I said ship it back. They said ok but not until the shipper paid the duty because they had already booked it as imported into China. $120 duty on a used camera that was freaking made IN China in the first place.

I'm laughing with you!

customs

Six years ago I bought a Schick,Schon and an Engels case from a guy in Ger. When my parcel got to the states it was held up at customs in Springfield.A very nice lady called me and said there may be an import fee. I explained to her that all that stuff was made in the USA and I didn't see how I should have to pay a tarriff. She faxed me a form to clear up the issue and the cues were released to FedX. It has been my experience to keep calm when you are dealing with someone who has you by the short hairs, make sure to get names and #s so you deal with the same person.

US Customs in New York is bad. I had cue come in there and it almost took a month to get it out of US Customs so the US Post office could send it to me, only to find they had taken it out of package and used it and put a small dent in it some small scratches chalk on tip and put it back in package. No damage to package only where they had ripped it open and then badly resealed it. And Was custom built cue and new.
