This doesn't explain the relatively sudden deterioration of the delivery times.

If you need to make sure something gets there spot on DHL. You'll pay dearly but 5 Days thru customs and delivered to Beijing and 4 days delivered to Taipei from the states. They own their jets and do everything themselves. No outside contracts or brokers.
i havent sent lots of packages but the ones ive sent went through quickly. right now most companies are having trouble finding help so are short handed for lower paying jobs. despite what is told about all the people that cant find jobs. right now its easier than ever to get hired. but less want to work.

I went to the post office today at 5:25 and the box in the drive-thru was FULL, I could've easily pulled a large package and lots of envelopes out of it so I parked and went inside and told one of the employees (they actually had about 4-5 people up front, it was pretty busy) and she took my mail and looked at her watch and said "Oh, he'll be here shortly". I really didn't want to leave my mail with her.
The check is still in the mail, LITERALLY! And so are a lot of other things! I hate to say it but maybe the time is here to privatize the post office. Too many of the so called employees there don't want to actually work to earn their pay check. I used to trust the mail. No more.
