I just went ahead and clicked on again to watch for a little bit and do it the benefit of the doubt. I have to stick with my original assumption is it's absolutely horrible. I think the gray may actually bleach out the color of the balls cuz you can hardly tell the color of the balls. It's like the 1950s I'm watching tv in black and white.

There's no comparison and all you got to do is flip on an old Accu sats video, to the vibrance of watching the beautiful colors, the green table the bright colors of the balls. Even a background in their set up looks horrible. Maybe in person it looks fine but if they're trying to sell this product on television, this ain't it.

You can never take one match as a definitive assessment of talent and talent gaps. Bergman this year has beaten Joshua Filler, Carlo Biado, David Alcaide, Wojciech Szewczyk, Quoc Hoang Duong and Arseni Sevastyanov.

In the PLP, he also won races to 5 vs Aloysius Yapp, AJ Manas and Kledio Kaci.

Any European who ends up on the Mosconi team will be better than Bergman. But Bergman is good enough to be competitive. The U.S. just needs players 4 and 5 to hold their own.
 
Any way to get the complete scoring bracket for this "Open" event without the need for a Matchroom login?
I can usually get access to scores for other live popular sports online, but Matchroom events seem "special".
Although broadcast on ESPN this year, I don't think they have this info either.

Wasn't it because the color gray works better for the cameras? I remember someone saying that the contrasting is better than blue or green.

don't see it, but i meant the logic could be blue has the 2-ball and green has the 6-ball at risk of blending.

i think no matter the colors, 9-ball/10-ball is difficult for casual viewers that hasn't played it. the fact that it literally needs a ball runner at the bottom of the screen and commentators saying the red 3-ball etc speaks for itself.

8-ball and one pocket are more intuitive. but they have other issues, obviously

I don't think changing the color takes away from the value of the product. I think the gray cloth looks better than the green or blue.

The grey cloth is a poor choice, as are the new ball colors. The two, four and five ball are not easy to distinguish on TV and get confused with other balls. MR has in the process made watching pool less appealing.

Just got to thinking how much fun it would be to make bets on FanDuel.
Make them or a competitor a sponsor and I believe they would do well, their sponsor fee could add to the purses, and more people would follow pool.
Handicapping I would look for the highest rated Fargo player with the longest odds mixed with some favorites and middle rated ones, players who are hot and those that aren’t, gut feelings. Long shots.
Looking at these odds I might take a chance on Earl or Oscar at 200,to 1 along with half a dozen modest bets. Would be similar to handicapping horses at the race track.
