Group 15 has Taiwan's Kun-chang Huang

with my choice

Marlon Manalo with 5 a piece.

Go Marlon Go!!!

With Archer playing the way he is I have to consider him the favorite to win the tourney at this point. I was saying before the start that he was a serious threat but did not know how he would play away from home in Taiwan. It seems he is in top form over there and as such is going to be a favorite against nearly anyone he plays in the knockout stage.

I would definitely say Archer is the favorite at the moment, he plays Kawabata on day four and the winner of that match will be undefeated. Either way both players will have an "easier" opponent to begin the KO stages.

Players I have bets on at WPC:

Archer: 6-0
Immonen: 5-1
Hohmann: 5-1
Ortmann: 4-1
Chang: 3-2
Chamat: 2-3 :(

I'm happy with my picks so far, I've got four contenders.

Marlon Manalo is also undefeated, and I hear that he is on a pretty amazing streak. Apparently he has won several consecutive matches, going back to his US tourament appearances.

I would like ...

A play by play report on the Strickland vs. Ortmann match today.

Our play by play guy has to work today if I'm not mistaken. Have you tried the forum on the WPC website? I know they had a play by play thread going but I don't know if it's current or not.

And don't forget Scotland's only representative - Michael Valentine, aka "The Yeti". In group 11, he's played 5 and won 5! An excellent result from the big man.

Should be kinda hard to miss over there - he's 6' 5" or 6' 6" and playing in the kilt!

Keep going Michael! All the SAPPA guys are right behind you!

Sorry to disappoint you, but I have to work. I can only do play by play on weekends. :)

Archer sure is doing very well as well as those who are undefeated or have 5 wins on there packet. The main question now is, who will they be playing in the elimination round. This round is the toughest and most pressured as 1 loss you're out. There are no second chances when the magic 64 plays.

If I remember it right, the #1 Player plays #64, #2 plays #63 and so on. I stand corrected on this one. :)
