Hello everyone this is my first post and i have a bit of a problem.. Anyways I have a Predator Sneaky Pete, you know the nice 8 pointer with no wrap, and it has the uni loc quick release which I also love, but the last few days its been a real pain to get the butt and shaft to release. It's also a wood to wood joint, any tips on how to care for this joint and not have this problem? I used to have a P2 and this never came up before, any advice would be greatly appreciated

The tolerances are so small on the uni lock joint a scratch in the pin or dirt in the female side can cause it to bind up

Do a visual inspection and maybe hit the female side with a vacuum

While many feel joint protectors are unneeded, I believe in them and especially so for any cue with a uni lock style joint

Good luck

That is a nice cue. Let a pro repair person look at. I always use joint protectors. They work. My case emptied out once. I left the top open. Every JP got scratched real good but nothing happened to the cues or joints.

I agree about the joint protectors.
Temperature can be an influence also when fine tolerances are involved.
Metal expands and contracts.
Treat your cue like a musical instrument.

This is what predators says

THE ORIGINAL UNI-LOC® JOINT. We recommend cleaning the Original Uni-Loc® Quick Release joint when you first receive your cue and every six months thereafter. These joints are precision manufactured to exact tolerances and even a modest amount of dirt can create a problem. You can use a Q-Tip dipped in Isopropyl alcohol to clean the inside threads and bore of the shaft insert. Clean the joint pin and threads with alcohol and a clean rag. We recommend the use of joint protectors to help keep your joint clean and to protect it from damage.
