JoeyA's product review.

This product was invented by Mike Danner. The video shows you some of what can be done with the tool. I'm going to tell you a couple of things. 1. Everything you see in the video, Mike Danner can do on command, virtually every time, even jumping the object ball out in the middle of the table. I doubt if anything was choreographed as I have seen Mike use this tool on a regular basis.
2. Mike will tell you and so will I. You have to practice with it to get the full benefit of it. Sure you can immediately stick the stretch cue extender onto your cue and it will be almost like shooting with your regular cue. Some of you nobel types might think you are preparing for a jousting match, as the extender is quite long. It is effective.

If I had brought it with me to Atlanta for the US Amateur Championship, I would not have lost my first match, that I guarantee. (I stupidly stretched without a bridge on an easy shot and missed it.) So much for hindsight.

Anyway, the product is pretty neat. You may want to check it out. (Yes, I have one.) Don't know what the current price is. No, he nor did anyone else tell me to post the advertisement on this site. It's a unique product and my personal experience with it is why I posted this on the Main Forum.

Good luck.

JoeyA.,
I know that you don't bother with reading any threads or keeping up with what's on the board before making your occasional drive by posts.
But, this system was posted here two hours prior to your post http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=79873

Doug
( I predict that JoeyA. will get the hang of this Forum 'stuff' before I die of old age......... maybe ) :)

Joey,

It certainly looks like it works well and I'm sure that it can win you some games or keep runs going. It's a great idea that I'm sure many people will buy.

That said I frown on people using anything that gives them an unfair advantage over their opponent. I have a regular opponent who owns and uses a jump cue and a cue extender. When we play one pocket and I leave him behind a ball or stretched out he doesn't feel the pain. I suppose we could all buy these products and level the field but in the real world that doesn't happen. All decent pool halls provide a bridge, some are pure crap and players buy a decent one to put on the end of a cue.

IMO........Paul

You bring up an excellent point, Paul but I think it is impossible for most pool halls and most tournament directors to guarantee quality bridges, cues etc and their availability. I agree though that it would be nice for everyone to be on the same playing field.

What are we going to do about the people who are jogging everyday and staying in shape at the gym? They have a edge on everyone else. More stamina better focus etc. And what about those one-upsmanship vegetarians? I think they have an edge on most of us meat eaters too. And don't get me started on those yoga guys who have the ability to regulate their blood pressure and emotions with their specialized training. And then there's those no good dirty dogs that are using the Predator BK2 cue for breaking. It's unfair that they have a break cue that allows them to hit a smidgeon off center and still send the cue ball in a straight line to the intended target. And while we're on the subject of equipment, what about those low-downs who are using those low-deflection shafts? Us guys who use whatever the house has available in the form of playing cues are definitely at a disadvantage when playing those guys who have their own custom made cue sticks. And what about that Varney guy if you live near him and get him to tweak your cue---well, I've heard that he make your cue do darn near about anything that you ask of it? What about those retirees who have all the time in the world to practice

Paul, while I lament with you, the fact is that the playing field is not level and the competitor in me says that it shouldn't be and those that go the extra mile and prepare with specialized training and specialized equipment and who play by the rules outlined in each discipline get a big high five from me.

Nobody ever said the world would be fair.

JoeyA (scraping and scratching for every legal advantage I can get).

Excellent points, you get some rep. I suppose that the purist in me frowns on anything that looks unusual. Break cues, low deflection shafts and healthy vegetarian yoga practicing people look normal. Granted the healthy yoga vegetarians don't resemble many pool players. To be honest I do own a jump cue and use it on occasion in 9 ball. I wouldn't think of using it in any other game. I suppose if these bridge/extension aids catch on and a majority start using them then it starts to become acceptable, IMO. I know that you couldn't get many golfers to go back to small Persimmon headed woods, nor would I.

regards............Paul

what was the invention here??? cue extensions and rakes have been around for years. Watch some snooker from the 80's!!! The only difference is how he still tries to hold it like a normal cue (odd). I think I will start selling the same thing... I will buy the existing products available for years...rename it no-stretch. Any buyers?

mike danner invented this system in the mid eighties i beleive and patented it.i am not sure exactly how patents work or how the wording of his actual patent is but i know he has been around showing these things for years and it has never quite caught on but then again most older people do not know of the power of the internet nor how to use it to market their products so i figured i would put it on youtube for him just so he could get a little exposure.
